Dad finished his four days with his "Chemo Pack" today. Went to the hospital to see how things are going and so far so good but he is starting to feel the effects of the Chemo. He is a little nauseous, his taste buds are changing, his appetite is not quite the same (probably because of the taste buds) and he is not as up beat as he was a few days ago. More than anything though is his back pain has not lessened as they were hoping the chemo would help alleviate some of the pain. He still has tremendous pain in his back and has trouble moving around and on top of all that tomorrow he has to go back to the hospital to get a shot that they said would make him feel like he has the flu. But Thursday is a day off, no hospital and no chemo. His blood count will start dropping within the next few days so visitors are asked to wait until the weekend is over to visit, he may have to spend the weekend in the hospital if his count is too low on Friday. But dad is a trooper and is fighting hard and has said that he is going to do all he can and all it takes to get better.

ReplyDeleteJust a note to let you know how much you are loved. You and Kristie mean the world to Norm and I, and you are in our thoughts and prayers. You know me, I love to fight, so, we are fightin' with ya!!!! We will be to see you, wherever you are, as soon as you are up to visitors. We would have come by now, but Norm had a bit of a flu bug so we didn't want to chance it.
To Doug and Kristies family.....Thank you so much for the blog. When Norm was in the hospital and so sick for so long, my daughter started a blog and took pictures. It really helped people to keep track of him and his progress. There were people that he used to work with in Calif. that checked it regularly. It made life so much easier for us. Thank you for letting us in your lives at this difficult time. I will email you pictures and letter by the 9th
