Meeting with Doctor
Mom and Dad met with Dr Tricot today to get results from some tests that had been done on Tuesday. His cancer numbers have gone down slightly since the last round of tests but are not to the point that they can say he is in remission yet. It has bee a rough couple of weeks for dad. The first part of September dad's neck started to swell. Mom called the nurses and they said to bring him to the clinic right away. After seeing him the nurses sent mom and dad to the ER because they would be able to get some tests done quicker that way. Turns out that dad had a blood clot in his neck so they upped his blood thinners and said that he could go home but to keep and eye on him. Now that he has had one blood clot it will be easier for him to get more. They were thinking about putting off his next chemo treatment because of the blood clot but it was decided that he would continue on with his chemo. After talking with Dr Tricot today, the Dr thinks that it is wise if they do not put off his chemo treatments for anything. Dad is scheduled to have his cataracts in his eye removed on Sept 28 and they were hoping to be able to put off his chemo a week because the chemo makes his eye burn, but the Dr said "no." Dad's back is still causing him tremendous pain and it was decided today that he would have more back surgery. So it has been a bumpy road the past couple of weeks and dad's spirits are down a bit. It is going to be a long 9 more months!
