So mom and dad went to see the Neuro Surgeon today about doing the back surgery. They took some x-rays and concluded that he does indeed have 5 broken vertebrae (lumbars 1-5). Then the surgeon said that he will not be doing the surgery because my dad starts chemo tomorrow and he usually only does 3 vertebrae at a time. His words were, "Doctor Tricot asked me to look at you, and I did." So dad does not get the luxury of being pain free or mostly pain free for the duration of the first chemo. That is lame.
He starts chemo tomorrow morning. The chemo he will be on is called D'PACE. He starts it at 9am and will be on it for 4 days. It is not going to be easy but we all know that he is a fighter.
